Willkommen to Zermatt

Last week Dan had a conference in this little town called Midway, Utah. We stayed at the ZERMATT hotel. It was such a cute little town and hotel. We only drove about 30 minutes but it looked like we had just stepped into the middle of Switzerland or something. So the boys and I hitched a ride with him to his free hotel and PLAYED while he conferenced.
We played in the jacuzzi hottub and pool.
We played in the park. (You're never too old to swing, I say)
We wondered which way to Zurich from here. (Did you know that it's closer to the North Pole from here than it is to Calgary?....At least according to THIS map?)
We played "Life Size" Chess.
Or at least "Hobbit Size" Chess. This home is where the chess pieces live.

Oh, and all the time we were playing, Dan was having "drainage" issues. Who says my hub couldn't survive in the wilderness. Look how resourceful he is.

Times they are a changin'....

I'm making a change. And none too soon. I just accepted a job in the ER at Timpanogos Regional Hospital. I'm excited and nervous. I have always wanted to work in the ER. I did my internship in the ER and loved it. I remember when I was at Ricks college I volunteered in the ER. I had no idea what I wanted to do as a major back then. I just volunteered because I thought it was sooo cool. You would think that maybe I would have recognized this as a hint of what I might want to do for a career, but NO, not me, I never gave it a second thought.

About the 'none too soon' comment. I have worked at my current job for 18months now. In that 18months I have had 4 different managers and I am one of the oldest nurses here (in terms of starting date). Now that's what I call HIGH TURNOVER, wow. They were understaffed all summer long when we had very few kids here. I hope they get it together before Swine Flu and RSV season. But frankly, I really don't want to be around to find out.

Soooooooo, I have one full night shift left and then it's good bye to my 5am-bored-silly posts. No more night shifts and no more boredom, I'm guessing. :)
